Chingola Municipal Council (CMC) is the designated authority to provide localized development solutions through policy formulations, implementation of laws and governance. The Local Authority’s’ role in governance is to embody decentralization of services, opportunities, leadership and sustainable development programmes spearheaded by the local community.

Through good governance and strengthened community/ stakeholder partnerships, Chingola  Municipal Council aims to promote sustainable social economic development and provide efficient and effective services to the community of Chingola.

In order to make the vision and mission a reality, Chingola Municipal Council is working through the various departments, strives to collaborate with the local stakeholders using a consultative process to understand the problems faced by the communities and provide guided action outlining the strategies for effective public service delivery. Working with different governance groupings such as Central Government, Ward Development Committees (WDC), Councilors, business organizations, Chingola District Chamber of Commerce, and Industry, Members of Parliament, religious groupings and various government departments and agencies,
