Following an evaluation by the Project Technical Team under the Zambia Devolution Support Program, the project for the rehabilitation of the abattoir has been approved, with a funding allocation of USD 600,000 which is equivalent to K14,400,000.The approval was based on the project’s potential to deliver a direct and measurable economic impact on the community and enhancing revenue generation for the Council. 

The scope of works for rehabilitating the Abattoir will include comprehensive rehabilitation of the existing infrastructure and the procurement of modern abattoir equipment to ensure efficiency, and compliance with public health standards.
