Residents of Dag Hammerskjold and Kaniki wards have expressed joy at the construction works of a classroom block at Lesa Wa Luse Primary School in Dag Hammarskjold Ward and Kakupepa Culvert in Kaniki Ward.
One of the members of the community in Kaniki Ward, Mr. Noel Mwewa expressed his gratitude for the culvert that was constructed.
Mr. Mwewa also called for the construction of a police station, a secondary school, and the graveling of the road to a better standard.
He said this when Ndola Central Constituency Member of Parliament who is also Minister of Logistics and Transport, Hon. Museba Frank Tayali toured Kaniki and Dag Hammerskjold wards last week.
And Mr. Lucky Chisulo, the school head teacher at Lesa Wa Luse Primary School said the school currently has 847 students and has four sessions each day due to a lack of classrooms.
He said once the 1X3 classroom block is operational, the pupil to teacher ratio would reduce.
Mary Maziche expressed her joy and said that the number of young girls that got pregnant would decrease now that they had a school nearby, as opposed to earlier when students had to walk 15 kilometers only to obtain junior secondary education.
The school is set to be commissioned once water works are complete.
