Chingola Municipal Council has taken a proactive step towards enhancing employee welfare by organizing a financial literacy meeting aimed at equipping staff with essential money management skills.

The meeting was facilitated by officers from Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) and focused on improving employees’ understanding of personal financial management, including budgeting, saving and accessing financial services.

Speaking during the engagement, ZANACO Workforce Banking Specialist Ms Sarah Litana emphasized the importance of financial discipline and planning in achieving long-term financial stability. She encouraged employees to adopt a savings culture, manage debt responsibly, and take advantage of available banking solutions tailored to their needs.

Ms. Litana further highlighted that financial literacy is key to empowering individuals to make informed decisions, noting that proper money management contributes not only to personal growth but also to improved productivity in the workplace.

The interactive session provided staff with practical knowledge and an opportunity to engage directly with financial experts on various financial products and services.
