Chingola Municipal Council today held an orientation meeting for the newly recruited data entry clerks on the Revised Cash for Work (R-CFW) program.

The meeting aimed to equip them with key information on the implementation of the initiative in the district, emphasizing the crucial role they will play in ensuring the program’s success.

Speaking during the orientation, Chingola District Commissioner Mr. Howard Kamwandi described the R-CFW program as a vital government initiative aimed at supporting communities while improving public spaces.

He urged the data entry clerks to be accurate, transparent, and impartial in their work, emphasizing the importance of avoiding errors and ensuring beneficiaries are correctly identified.

Mr. Kamwandi stressed that participation in the program must be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, free from any form of segregation based on affiliation or tribe.

Speaking at the same meeting, Chingola Town Clerk Mrs. Namukolo Kalufyanya said the council will implement the program through a mass recruitment approach across all wards in Chingola.

She highlighted improvements such as an integrated system to prevent beneficiaries from receiving multiple social protection benefits and the use of data entry clerks to ensure accurate records.

She further emphasized the need for the Data Entry clerks to be prepared to go on the ground and identify beneficiaries, ensuring that the program reaches those who need it most.

The orientation meeting was part of the council’s efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the R-CFW program, which has helped the local authority address community works such as grass cutting and drainage maintenance.

The program is expected to promote social inclusion, targeting women, youth, and persons with disabilities, and providing them with temporary employment opportunities and income support.
